Hi I’m Jasmine and welcome to the First Grade Frenchies Hub! I am a French-Second-Language specialist from Ontario, Canada.
I have been teaching since 2017 and I am super passionate about making French learning fun and engaging for students. I strive to create quality resources that teachers will enjoying using.
While my teaching experience began in primary-land, I have since dabbled into teaching juniors and find both to be rewarding and fun!
Being an immersion kid myself, I always knew I wanted to become a French teacher! Once I landed a permanent position, however, I found myself with absolutely zero French resources to work with and no idea where to start.
I had to either make things from scratch, purchase resources myself or spend hours searching through Facebook teaching groups.
I’ve created this blog to be able to share helpful French teaching tips, ideas and resources for fellow French educators in hopes that I can help bridge the ever-so-big gap there seems to be with French Education in Canada. I’m a casual gal and will never claim to be an expert. This is a safe & fun space to share ideas for the French Immersion and Core French classrooms!
We can all learn and grow in our French teaching journey together.

Five Minute French Teacher
My students and I love all of First Grade Frenchies book companions. There are so many activities that really engage the students and allow me to make sure that they are understanding the different components of the book (language, story line, characters etc).

Oh my goodness - I used this during the week before Christmas break with my Grade 2 class this year and it was the perfect tool to engage them on an otherwise chaotic time! It was also a great way to see what they had retained :)
